Kuat NV 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack Review - 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the Kuat NV 2.0 platform-style, two-bike bike rack on a 2023 Volkswagen Tiguan. When choosing a bike rack for any vehicle there's lots of different choices, and the NV is definitely one of my personal favorites, not only because it's a platform style which I think is the best way to secure a bike, but also it's wheel mounted. That means that you're going to have a variety of different bikes that can go on here, including e-bikes and also carbon fiber frames, whereas sometimes your frame-mounted ones, you're limited as to what you can put on here, and this one works really well, even with a large, 29-inch bike with a long wheel base. That's pretty wide. It works really well on this Tiguan. The capacities of this bike rack are pretty solid too. more

Now this can be an excellent little way of just giving yourself a nice stable platform rack to get your bikes to your destination. So, what's great about it, it's gonna be awesome for like city living, places where you don't have a lot of room in your garages, maybe your apartment living and you only have one of those like small outside closets to store all your stuff. more

So the Swagman Current is great if you have a inch and 1/4 hitch which is what we have on our vehicle right now, but you still need an extra weight capacity for your bike rack to carry around your heavy electric bikes. Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at the Swagman Chinook two-bike platform rack, here on our 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan. So this is a platform rack that is gonna be great for if you have an inch and a quarter hitch, kinda like what we have here on our Tiguan, because even though it has a smaller shank, you still get a lot of weight capacity, more than your regular or traditional platform bike racks, which is awesome. So we'll take a look at some of the features of this bike rack, just to see if it's the right fit for you, and if the features are what you are looking for. So, first, we're gonna take a look at the tilt-away feature. To do so, you just lift up on this lever and then drop this down to a tilt, just like that. And you'll want to tilt it away if you wanna access your hatch. more

What's great about this is that we don't have to worry about removing anything from our hitch just to gain that access.We can close that up and we'll just straight up on our bike rack until it clicks back into place. more

Today on our 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan, we're doing a test fit on the Thule T2 Pro Platform Style Two Bike Rack. That part number is TH9034. Now we already have our bike secured down, we're going to go over some features, show you how we secure our bike into place and take a few measurements. The first feature I want off by showing is our tilting feature, because we can do this with our bike rack fully loaded. We're going to squeeze the handle towards the back and lower that down away from our hatch door, and we can open that up. As you can see, we've got a lot of room between our handlebars and our door. Now a measurement that might help you is that we have about nine inches from the middle of our handlebars to the outer edge, so if you have any that are even a little bigger than this, we're still going to have a lot of room there to get those handlebars past that door, which means we can get into our back hatch area and get anything in our out that we may need. more

Today on our 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero. This is a folding and tilting 2-bike rack. It's been designed for use with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. Part number on it is TH9042. Now if you need an extra spot we also have this available as a 3-bike, part number TH9043. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of our hitch. As we do we'll want to hold out on the black attached pin, line up our pinholes, then allow that pin to go in through our pinhole. more

Today on our 2010 Volkswagen Tiguan we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is a folding and tilting 4-bike rack. They've designed it for use with 1-1/4" or 2" hitches. The part number on our 4-bike here is TH9029. Now if you don't need quite this much room we have a 2-bike version available as part number TH9028. There's also a 5-bike version available as part number TH9030. To begin our test fit we'll slide the shank of rack right into the receiver tube of our hitch. more
